Alfred E. Osborne, Jr., Ph.D., MBA, MA, BS

Dr. Al Osborne is Senior Associate Dean of the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He is also professor of Global Economics & Management and founder and faculty director of the Harold Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at UCLA. Dr. Osborne is an expert in social entrepreneurship who has developed several programs that apply business models to the nonprofit world, including the management of child development agencies like Head Start.

Dr. Osborne currently serves as a director of Kaiser Aluminum and the Heckmann Corporation and over the years has served on many other corporate boards. He is also a director of the Fidelity Charitable Gift Fund and the Los Angeles Universal Preschool. His current research interests include venture capital and private equity, and the role of the board of directors in private and public corporations. Dr. Osborne consults with growing companies and non-profit organizations on business and economic matters.

Dr. Osborne's wife, Nancy, a former Disney corporate executive, is an artist and choral singer. They have one son who is a recent college graduate and member of the US National Rowing team. Dr. Osborne likes to travel, and he enjoys good food and wine – both healthy and unhealthy. In his remaining spare time, he enjoys playing golf and driving vintage cars.
